So today, in honor of International Women's Day, I thought I would
share the link to where you can find my books at the library online.
This means you can read them -- for FREE!
This means a little work
on your part, a bit of a treasure hunt, but in the end it means having
access to a whole library of free books to read!
This is through a program Library Journal's Self-E, which encourages indie authors to share their books with the local libraries in a e-book form. The books appear on Biblioboard,
a program that you can sign up for for free using a library card. Now, I
don't know if it works with all library cards, but it does work with
the Los Angeles Public Library card (you can also find Biblioboard by going to LAPL's website and clicking the eMedia tab in the upper right corner).
Biblioboard has apps you can download for reading their ebooks on your iPad, Android and Kindle Fire.
Once you've signed in, if you do a search for "Rachel V Olivier" you get this screen:
Or if you just do a search for "Rachel Olivier" you get this screen:
Or
just browse through the different categories to see what you can find
that you might be interested in. In this screenshot, note the comic
books and graphic novels!
You
may not be able to find your favorite popular author's books on this
website, but you'll be able to explore books by current independent
authors as well as a few from way back (think Anthony Trollope, William
Shakespeare, Elizabeth Gaskell, Louisa May Alcott, Charlotte Bronte,
etc.).
Hope you enjoy your treasure hunt!
